Google Analytics Homework
MK299 Google Analytics Homework
STEP 1
First, you should open a Google Analytics account. Put in your blog’s URL so that Google Analytics can track your blog’s visitors.
If you get Google Analytics Code it goes into your blog’s HTML code block just like the AdSense Code. Once you access your blog's html code (go to the blog’s dashboard, click on "Template", then "Edit html" option), scroll down the code to the last two lines of code. I believe they are:
< / body >
< / html >
You should paste the Google Analytics code ABOVE the last 2 lines of existing html code. Then, hit save and the code should work.
STEP 2
Second, now you should THOROUGHLY examine the type of information Google Analytics provides. There should be a main SITE USAGE section and 4 additional sections with further information:
- Visitors Overview
- Map Overlay
- Traffic Sources Overview
- Content Overview.
Familiarize yourself with the type of information provided under each section. Then, write about how the type of info under each section might be useful to a blogger and to a small business (local restaurant). You don't necessarily need to use numbers!!!! - just tell me how each TYPE of information WOULD BE used by either a blogger or a local restaurant owner.
You should write ABOUT HALF A PAGE for EACH SECTION. So, the length of your paper is up to three pages.

Revised MK299 Schedule

Hope you had a great Holiday weekend!
To keep us organized, I have posted a revised (again) syllabus in Blackboard.
I also posted the SHU Chapel website team assignment so each team has a reminder of what they had to work on.
Remember, the midterm is scheduled for Monday, March 31st!
For the midterm, lecture summaries and lecture review questions are already posted for each lecture in Blackboard. Of course, items covered in class at each lecture are included for the exam.
The exam will be mostly multiple choice, however, it will also include a few (about 5) short answer questions.
You should cover the following lectures:
- History of the Internet
- How the Web Works
- Internet Users
- Marketing Research Online
- Data

Adding AdSense to your Blogs
Part 1.
Once you access your blog's html code (click on "Template", then "Edit html" option), scroll down the code to the last two lines of code. I believe they are:
< / body >
< / html >
You should paste the AdSense code ABOVE the last 2 lines of existing html code. Then, hit save and the code should work.
Part 2.
After adding the code, in order to actually see the ads on your blog, you should access "Template" again, then click on "Page Elements" and add new element. Among the available elements you can ad, you should find AdSense. Click to add it.
You're done!
